Deputies proposed to increase the fixed pension payment by 100% for one category of pensioners

In accordance with the comments received from officials, consideration of two bills is scheduled at one of the next meetings of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Each of them provides for the possibility of increasing the fixed payment to pensioners by 2 times.

To obtain an objective assessment of the proposed initiative, I will provide data on the amounts of payments as of January 2022. Payments for this category of pensions amount to 6,401.10 rubles, and if the bill is adopted, an increase to 12,802.20 rubles is possible. As can be seen from the presented values, the increase can significantly improve the purchasing power of older people, but the question of changing the legislation remains open.

Initiators of change

Proposals to double the fixed part of the pension were made by deputies of the LDPR and A Just Russia parties. The bills received registration numbers 961691-7 and 984634-7, respectively.
